Masterclad Medium Voltage Arc Resistant Metal-Clad Switchgear
Provides additional degree of protection from the effects of an internal arcing fault.
Masterclad® Arc Resistant (AR) switchgear with Type VR vacuum circuit breakers is designed to provide an additional degree of protection from the effects of an internal arcing fault. It is an extension of the popular standard indoor 2.4--15kV Masterclad switchgear product line with all the features of ANSI/IEEE C37.20.2 and EEMAC G8-3. UL listing is available. This design complies with both EEMAC and ANSI/IEEE guide requirements.
The design of today's metal-clad switchgear from Square D is a carefully planned and executed evolution of the highly successful designs manufactured for nearly 30 years. In Canada, arc resistant designs were backed by, and are popular with utilities and many large industrial customers. In the U.S., the ANSI/IEEE C37.20.7 testing guide for arc resistant designs was recently approved and we expect to see it, on a selective basis, in some new specifications with the industrial segment as well as for the utility market.
