Modicon™ OTB Optimized Distributed I/O allows the creation of I/O islands managed by a master controller via a fieldbus or communication network. With its expandable block type architecture, the Modicon OTB is ideally suited for small and medium size islands of distributed I/O that can be placed closer to the sensors and actuators they control, reducing wiring time and costs.

The Modicon OTB solution includes three communication bases (interface modules) for the various types of fieldbus, CANopen, Ethernet TCP/IP or Modbus® RS 485 Serial Line. Each base includes 20 I/O, totaling 12 - 24 VDC inputs, 6 relay outputs, and 2 - 24 VDC solid-state outputs.

Features

• Each Modicon OTB interface module can be fitted with any expansion I/O module from the >Twido™ nano PLC offering.
• Bases can be fitted with up to seven digital or analog I/O modules. Expansion and interface modules clip on to 35-mm symmetrical rail and enable configurations of up to 132 digital I/O and up to 48 analog I/O channels, or a mixture of both types.
• The Modicon OTB platform requires only a few references for spare parts and accessories needed for creating an island.

Designed for simple and compact machines, the Modicon OTB solution integrates perfectly with the Twido™ or TSX Micro™ automation platforms. Together, they provide a flexible and economical IP20 solution that is optimized for small machine control.
